महालक्ष्मी व्रत कथा

प्राचीन काल की बात है, एक गाँव में एक ब्राह्मण रहता था। वह ब्राह्मण नियमानुसार भगवान विष्णु का पूजन प्रतिदिन करता था। उसकी भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान विष्णु ने उसे दर्शन दिये और इच्छा अनुसार वरदान देने का वचन दिया।
ब्राह्मण ने माता लक्ष्मी का वास अपने घर मे होने का वरदान मांगा। ब्राह्मण के ऐसा कहने पर भगवान विष्णु ने कहा यहाँ मंदिर मैं प्रतिदिन एक स्त्री आती है और वह यहाँ गोबर के उपले थापति है। वही माता लक्ष्मी हैं, तुम उन्हें अपने घर में आमंत्रित करो। देवी लक्ष्मी के चरण तुम्हारे घर में पड़ने से तुम्हारा घर धन-धान्य से भर जाएगा।

हनुमान जी को बजरंग बली क्यों कहते है

ऐसा कहकर भगवान विष्णु अदृश्य हो गए। अब दूसरे दिन सुबह से ही ब्राह्मण देवी लक्ष्मी के इंतजार मे मंदिर के सामने बैठ गया। जब उसने लक्ष्मी जी को गोबर के उपले थापते हुये देखा, तो उसने उन्हे अपने घर पधारने का आग्रह किया।

ब्राह्मण की बात सुनकर लक्ष्मी जी समझ गयीं कि यह बात ब्राह्मण को विष्णुजी ने ही कही है। तो उन्होने ब्राह्मण को महालक्ष्मी व्रत करने की सलाह दी। लक्ष्मी जी ने ब्राह्मण से कहा कि तुम 16 दिनों तक महालक्ष्मी व्रत करो और व्रत के आखिरी दिन चंद्रमा का पूजन करके अर्ध्य देने से तुम्हारा व्रत पूर्ण होजाएगा।

क्यों श्री हनुमान जी ने चीरा अपना सीना ?

ब्राह्मण ने भी महालक्ष्मी के कहे अनुसार व्रत किया और देवी लक्ष्मी ने भी उसकी मनोकामना पूर्ण की। उसी दिन से यह व्रत श्रद्धा से किया जाता है।

Mahalakshmi Vrat Katha

It is a matter of ancient times, a Brahmin lived in a village. That Brahmin used to worship Lord Vishnu daily according to the rules. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Vishnu appeared to him and promised to grant him a boon as per his wish.
The Brahmin asked for the boon of having the abode of Goddess Lakshmi in his house. When the Brahmin said this, Lord Vishnu said that every day a woman comes to the temple here and she is the husband of cow dung here. She is Mata Lakshmi, you invite her to your home. If the feet of Goddess Lakshmi fall in your house, your house will be filled with wealth and grains.

Why Hanuman ji is called Bajrang Bali

By saying this, Lord Vishnu disappeared. Now on the second day itself, the Brahmin sat in front of the temple waiting for Goddess Lakshmi. When he saw Lakshmi ji slapping cow dung cakes, he urged her to come to his house.

After listening to Brahmin, Lakshmi ji understood that Vishnuji had said this thing to Brahmin. So he advised the Brahmin to perform Mahalakshmi Vrat. Lakshmi ji told the Brahmin that you observe Mahalakshmi fast for 16 days and on the last day of the fast, worshiping the moon and offering ardhya will complete your fast.

Why did Shri Hanuman ji cut his chest ?

The Brahmin also observed a fast as per Mahalakshmi's advice and Goddess Lakshmi also fulfilled his wish. From the same day this fast is observed with devotion.
