"Jaya Ekadashi fasting story

Gandivdhari Arjun said - "" Oh God! Now kindly tell me in detail about Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Magha month. Which deity should be worshiped on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha and what is the story of fasting on this Ekadashi, what fruit is obtained by doing it?

Lord Krishna said- ""O Arjuna! Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Magh month is called Jaya Ekadashi. Fasting on this Ekadashi gives freedom from the evil spirits of human beings, ghosts, vampires etc. Therefore, fasting on this Ekadashi should be done according to the method. Now I am all the stories of Jaya Ekadashi fast, listen carefully - Once the king of the world Indra was roaming in the Nandan forest. There was an atmosphere of some festival all around. The Gandharvas were singing and the Gandharva girls were dancing. At the same time, a Gandharva girl named Pushpavati saw a Gandharva named Malyavan and became enamored of him and tried to woo him with her gestures. Mallyawan also forgot the tone and rhythm of his singing by being attached to that Gandharva girl. This broke the rhythm of the music and spoiled all the enjoyment of the music. The deities present in the meeting felt very bad about this. Devendra also got angry seeing this. Music is a sacred practice. Corrupting this system is a sin, in such anger Indra cursed Pushpavati and Mallyawan - ' Mallyawan and Pushpavati who pollute the practice of music! Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and speech, is grossly insulted, so she will die. In the house of the teachers, the teachers are also insulted by showing incontinence and shame, so the attitude is now prohibited in Indralok, now you will live the life of a lowly vampire incontinent.'  

Hearing the blasphemy of Devendra, he became very sad and started living mournfully in the life of vampire on the Himalayan mountain. He had no sense of smell, taste, touch etc. At the same time he started feeling sorry. He could not sleep even for a moment day and night. The atmosphere of that place was extremely cold, due to which he used to cry, his hands and feet used to go numb, his teeth started ringing.

One day that vampire said to his woman - ' What sins did I commit in my previous birth, due to which we have got such a painful vampire form? It is better to suffer the pains of hell than that of a vampire.' Those who say this type of thought spend many of their days.

By the grace of God, once on the day of Jaya Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Magh, both of them did not eat anything and did not commit any sin. That day the day was spent eating only fruits and flowers and with great sadness began to rest under the Peepal tree. That day the Sun God was going to Astachal. That night both of them cut with great difficulty by being close to each other.

On the next morning, by the grace of the Lord, they was freed from her demonic form and once again assumed the bodies of their most beautiful Apsara and Gandharva and adorned with beautiful clothes and jeeras, both of them went to heaven. At that time the gods and Gandharvas in the sky started praising him. Both of them bowed down to Devendra in Naglok. 

Seeing Devendra also in his form, he was very surprised and he asked - 'Tell me the whole story of how you got rid of the vampire form.'

Indra said - 'O Mallyawan! By fasting on Ekadashi and by the grace of Lord Sri Hari, you have become pure by leaving the vampire form, so we have become worshipable even for the worthy, because Shiva and Vishnu-devotees are worshiped by us, therefore both of you are blessed. Are. Now you can reside in Devlok as Akshaya.  

Hey Arjun! By fasting on this Jaya Ekadashi, one gets freedom from Kuyoni easily. The person who fasts on this Ekadashi, believe that all penance, yagya and charity are done. People who observe Jaya Ekadashi fast with devotion, they certainly live in heaven for a thousand years.
