सत्यनारायण की व्रत कथा- प्रथम अध्याय

बहुत समय पहले की बात है, सर्वशास्त्र ज्ञाता श्री सूतजी से हजारों की संख्या में ऋषि-मुनि गण मिलने पहुंचे। वहां पहुंचकर सभी मुनियों ने सूत जी को नमन किया और पूछा, “हे परमपिता! कलयुग के समय में ईश्वर की भक्ति के लिए मनुष्यों को क्या करना होगा? कलयुग में उन्हें मोक्ष की प्राप्ति कैसे होगी? हे प्रभु! कृपया आप हमें किसी ऐसे तप के बारे में बताएं, जिसे करने से मन की मुराद पूरी होने के साथ ही पुण्य की प्राप्ति हो जाए।”

ऋषियों की बात सुनने के बाद सूत जी बोले, “हे मुनि गण! आप सभी ने मनुष्यों के हित के बारे में एक अच्छा सवाल किया है। मैं आप सभी को एक ऐसे व्रत के बारे में बताऊंगा, जिसके बारे में खुद लक्ष्मीपति ने नारद मुनि को बताया था। आप सभी इस व्रत को ध्यानपूर्वक सुनें।”

क्या है खाटू श्याम जी के बाणों का रहस्य ?

एक बार नारद मुनि दूसरों के हित की अभिलाषा लिए कई लोकों के भ्रमण पर निकले। इस भ्रमण के दौरान घुमते-घुमते एक दिन वह मृत्युलोक यानी धरती पहुंचे। यहां नारद मुनि ने देखा कि सभी मनुष्य अपने कर्मों का फल भोग रहे हैं। इसके कारण सभी दुख से पीड़ित हैं। यह देख उनके मन में एक सवाल आया कि ऐसा कौन-सा उपाय निकाला जाए, जिसका पालन करने से मनुष्यों के दुखों का अंत किया जा सके।

अपने इस सवाल को लेकर नारद मुनि विष्णु लोक पहुंच गए। वहां उन्होंने भगवान नारायण की आराधना की। प्रार्थना करते हुए नारद मुनि बोले, “हे प्रभु! आप तो सर्व शक्तिशाली हैं, आपका कोई अंत नहीं है। आप सभी भक्तों के कष्ट को दूर करते हैं, आपको मेरा प्रणाम है। नारद मुनि की यह बातें सुनकर भगवान विष्णु प्रकट हुए और कहा, “हे नारद मुनि! आपके मन में ऐसा कौन सा सवाल है, जिसके लिए आप यहां पधारे हैं।

परमपिता विष्णु की बात सुनकर नारद मुनि बोले, “प्रभु! मृत्युलोक में मनुष्य अपने कर्मों के दुख झेल रहे हैं। भगवन! आप अगर मुझ पर तनिक भी दया करते हैं, तो कृपा करके मुझे बताइए कि मानव ऐसे कौन से काम करे, जिससे उन्हें इस दुख से मुक्ति मिल सके।”

विष्णु भगवान ने जवाब में कहा, “हे मुनि ! मानव जाति की भलाई के लिए आपने एक अच्छा सवाल किया है। मैं आपको वह बात बताऊंगा जिसका पालन करने से मनुष्यों का मोह से नाता छूट सकता है।”

इतना कहने के बाद भगवान विष्णु ने व्रत के बारे में बताना शुरू किया। उन्होंने कहा, “स्वर्ग और मृत्यु दोनों लोकों में एक ऐसा व्रत है, जिसे करने से पुण्य की प्राप्ति हो सकती है। उस व्रत का नाम है श्री सत्यनारायण भगवान की पूजा। इस व्रत को पूरे विधि विधान से जो भी करेगा उसे सुख और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होगी।

विष्णु भगवान से इस व्रत के बारे में सुनते ही नारद मुनि ने फिर पूछा, “हे ईश्वर! इस व्रत को करने से कौन-सा फल मिलेगा और इसे करने की विधि क्या है? इस व्रत को सबसे पहले किसके द्वारा किया गया था और इस व्रत को किस दिन करना शुभ होगा? प्रभु! आप इन सभी सवालों के जवाब दें।”

खाटू श्याम मेला फाल्गुन माह में क्यों लगता है ?

नारद के सवालों का जवाब देते हुए भगवान विष्णु कहते हैं, “दुखों को दूर करने वाले इस व्रत को करना बहुत आसान है। इसको करने के लिए मनुष्यों को पूरी भक्ति से शाम के समय ब्राह्मणों के साथ श्री सत्यनारायण भगवान की पूजा करनी होगी। इसके लिए सबसे पहले भोग तैयार होगा। भोग के लिए दूध, केला, घी और गेहूं के आटे को एक चौथाई भाग में लेना होगा। गेहूं नहीं है, तो उसकी जगह साठी के आटे का उपयोग किया जा सकता है। फिर शक्कर और गुड़ सहित सभी खाने योग्य पदार्थों को मिलाकर भगवान को भोग लगाना होगा।

व्रत रखने वाले को भजन, कीर्तन का आयोजन करना होगा। भक्ति में लीन होकर भगवान सत्यनारायण की अर्चना करनी होगी। इसके बाद व्रत रखने वाले को ब्राह्मणों और सभी परिजनों को भोजन कराना चाहिए। इसके बाद व्रत रखने वाला खुद भोजन करेगा।

वीर बर्बरीक कैसे बने हारे के सहारे बाबा श्याम

इस तरह पूरी विधि के साथ सत्यनारायण भगवान की पूजा करने से मनुष्यों की हर इच्छा पूरी हो सकती है। साथ ही यह कलयुग में मोक्ष प्राप्त करने का एकमात्र सरल उपाय है।

इस तरह श्री सत्यनारायण कथा का पहला अध्याय पूरा होता है।

Vrat Katha of Satyanarayan - Chapter 1

It was a long time ago, thousands of sages and sages came to meet Shri Sutji, the knower of all the scriptures. After reaching there, all the sages bowed down to Sut ji and asked, “O Supreme Father! After listening to the sages, Sut ji said, “O sages! You all have raised a good question about the interest of humans. I will tell you all about such a fast, about which Lakshmipati himself told Narad Muni. All of you listen to this fast carefully.

Once Narad Muni went on a tour of many worlds with the desire of benefiting others. While roaming around during this tour, one day he reached Mrityulok i.e. earth. Here Narad Muni saw that all human beings are reaping the fruits of their deeds. Due to this everyone is suffering from sorrow. Seeing this, a question came to his mind as to which remedy should be found, by following which the sufferings of human beings can be ended.

With this question of his, Narad Muni reached Vishnu Lok. There he worshiped Lord Narayan. Narad Muni said while praying, “O Lord! You are all powerful, you have no end. You remove the suffering of all the devotees, I salute you. Hearing these words of Narad Muni, Lord Vishnu appeared and said, “O Narad Muni! What is the question in your mind for which you have come here?

After listening to the Supreme Father Vishnu, Narad Muni said, “Lord! In the land of death, human beings are suffering due to their deeds. God! If you have a little mercy on me, then please tell me what kind of work should be done by humans, so that they can get rid of this sorrow.

Lord Vishnu replied, “O sage! You have asked a good question for the betterment of mankind. I will tell you the thing by following which humans can get rid of attachment.

After saying this, Lord Vishnu started telling about the fast. He said, “There is such a fast in both the worlds of heaven and death, by observing which virtue can be attained. The name of that fast is the worship of Shri Satyanarayan Bhagwan. Whoever observes this fast with all the rules and regulations will get happiness and salvation.

On hearing about this fast from Lord Vishnu, Narad Muni again asked, “O God! What will be the result of observing this fast and what is the method of doing it? By whom was this fast first observed and on which day would it be auspicious to observe this fast? Lord! You answer all these questions.

Why is the Khatu Shyam fair held in the month of Phalgun?

Answering Narad's questions, Lord Vishnu says, “It is very easy to perform this fast that removes sorrows. To do this, humans have to worship Lord Satyanarayan with Brahmins in the evening with full devotion. For this, bhog will be prepared first. For enjoyment, milk, banana, ghee and wheat flour have to be taken in one fourth part. If wheat is not available, then wheat flour can be used instead. Then God has to be offered bhog by mixing all the eatable substances including sugar and jaggery.

The person observing fast will have to organize bhajan, kirtan. One has to worship Lord Satyanarayan by getting engrossed in devotion. After this, the fasting person should feed the Brahmins and all the family members. After this the fasting person will eat himself.

By worshiping Lord Satyanarayana in this way with complete method, every wish of humans can be fulfilled. Also it is the only simple way to attain salvation in Kalyug.
